When we were packing to visit family for Christmas, I decided to introduce Silas to the concept of packing for himself. I drew up a list, and showed him how to cross things off as he found them. He loved it. It kept him occupied, served a useful purpose, and made him very proud. JC had to help him, of course, but it’s a good first step toward being able to do it all by himself.
